English The early history of Sparta was not recorded by the Spartans themselves but compiled from archaeological evidence and the literature of later civilizations. The Spartans were originally Dorians living in the far north of Greece who, sometime in the 10th century BCE, invaded the Peloponnese, and conquered the region’s indigenous Achaeans. The enslaved Achaeans were called Helots. They far outnumbered the Spartans and rebelled against their subjugation. So spartans are required to be superstrong to suppress the rebellion.
